Returned to Athens for Christmas with my family at my aunts house. Had a lovely time and while I was there I made these two quick photos of my cousins walking their dogs.

December 23rd: Things

I was in my room and started to think about all the things I'm going to have to pack before going back to Athens and then I thought about all the things we carry, stow away, and keep with us - in my opinion it's too many things.

Went to Hometown today and had some pizza with some of my favorite people. So much fun!

I see you

Photobucket

We have wooden blinds over our windows and everyday for about an hour there's all these lines and shapes of light shining through my livingroom. Today my dog just happened to be sitting on the couch in the right spot.

Finding Comfort

A hero returned home today. He was a Marine, but to me he will always be my best friend, Mr. Scott. And that's what will be in my memory and shine through my heart as long as I live.
I could go on and on about him because he was an exceptional person, but I won't. I know he was a hero because it truly was a part of his nature to strive to be and do his best at whatever he did. So it is no surprise that he is a hero, because he's always been.
I picked up a book I had given Luke to read because after I read it, it changed me. And since it meant so much to me I needed to share it with someone, and so I gave it to my closest friend. Below is a picture of him and I before going to the Renaissance Festival. With it is a page of that book with a quote that gives me comfort:

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends."

December 7th: Walking

Photobucket

It amazes me how true that the best photos are found just before you stop shooting. I was walking back to my house and I looked up to find these cranes flying towards the sunset and I took shots until they disappeared far off into the distance, this one was my favorites.

I didn't bring my camera to my friends house, so I had to use a point-and-shoot camera. Not great, but they'll do.

Reflection

Photobucket

No photo of the day today. I learned today that my best friend and brother who was serving in Afghanistan was killed in action, and so today has been a day of reflection and remembrance to one of the most important people in my life, and my dearest friend. I will always miss you, but I will never forget you.

Carry on, my wayward friend, carry on!

November 27th: Spending Time

I got a little side tracked and haven't posted my pictures for the past few days, but here they are:

Photobucket

A few days ago I took a walk with my cousin in search for a field of cows to get a picture for my friend. We didn't find any cows but I got to spend some time with my cousin who I don't get to see that often.
